My Angel
Lovely, lonely Winter night,
An angel came with wings of white.
My angel, are those tears I see?
Are those tears you weep for me?
Such beauty in your tears;
But, you fear the lonely years.
My hand in yours grows cold.
So many regrets for years untold.
Those sad eyes I do not wish to see.
Would you give one last smile for me?
Please smile, my angel. This is not goodbye.
No angel is ever meant to cry.
The next time we meet, I too will have wings.
I too will stand with the angels and sing.
Next time I will hold your hand as we take flight,
In another lovely, lonely Winter Night.
